St Pat's Day beer

tinkers_curse

Eight Belgian-inspired beers brewed by Australia's most extreme craft brewer, Murray's Craft Brewing Co, will be paired with eight delicious dishes prepared by a Belgian chef at Murray's first seasonal beer dinner of the year on Tuesday March 20, 2012.

Five of the beers are being brewed exclusively for the night, including one cask conditioned ale, two oak aged beers, and even a 'wild brew' affectionately named 'The Horror'.

Celebrate St Patrick's Day at Manly with a New Irish Stout Poured by the Man Who Brewed It - 17 March.

St Patrick's Day heralds the debut of Murray's Tinkers Curse Dry Irish Stout - a new dry Irish stout from Murray's Craft Brewing Co., available only on St Pat's Day at Murray's Brewery Restaurant and Bar (Manly) and Murray's Brewery (Port Stephens).

And meet the man who brewed the beer, Shawn Sherlock (aptly named) - also in Manly for one day only. Shawn will be pouring beers and available for a chat at the bar between 12 and 2pm at our first 'Meet the Brewer' session for 2012 at Manly.

Murray's Tinker's Curse is a session strength stout (4.5% abv) designed to be drunk by the pint. As is classic for the style, Tinker's Curse has a strong charred roast grain character up front. A real stout bite, followed by a smooth, clean finish.

Murray's at Manly will serve Tinker's Curse on the day in 2 ways - traditionally through the handpump (straight from the barrel) and also, through the tap with forced carbonation.

"It's a great opportunity for people to give both a go and see which they prefer. We've never publicly released this beer before - so it's a Murray's world first!" says brewery owner, Murray Howe. "Shawn used to be the drummer in an Irish band called Tinker's Curse. So our St Patrick's Day beer is a tribute to many great Irish indulgences."

Introducing: Beer Brunch

Breakfast beers may be frowned upon (by some), but brunch beers are celebrated at Murray's with our new Brunch Menu.

Choose from a unique menu that includes croque monsieur (or croquet madame), Creole black pudding or asparagus soup with soft poached eggs, Himalayan truffle and croutons.

And better yet, pair your menu selection with a pint of Murray's beer, such as the full flavoured (and low alcohol) Retro Rocket (honest - 2.8% abv!).

Brunch available at Murray's at Manly from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Murray's at Manly is the first Sydney venue of Australia's most extreme brewer, Murray's Craft Brewing Co.

From humble beginnings in Taylors Arm (population 50) on the NSW North Coast six years ago, Murray's relocated its brewery to Port Stephens in 2009.

With craft beer among the fastest-growing alcoholic beverage segments in Australia and globally, Murray's beers are available nationally, and some internationally. Murray's Craft Brewing Co has the highest number of beers in this year's The Critics Choice Australia's Top 100 Best Beers.

Murray's at Manly offers the brewer's full range of craft beers for the first time at a major capital city location, companioning a 250 seat restaurant. Beer and food matching are an integral part of the experience.
