Flavours of Malaysia Food Festival

For the fourth time, the Grace Brasserie will host this flavourful festival from 26 September to 13 October 2013.

This is an exclusive opportunity to experience Malaysian cuisines, and this year's highlight will be the specialty dishes from the Southern States of Malaysia inspired by a rich cultural history, at either a lunch or dinner buffet. Top chefs will be specially flown in from Kuala Lumpur to showcase the exotic flavours of Malaysia.

Guests will get a chance to win many great prizes such as a return ticket on Malaysia Airlines to Malaysia (ex-Sydney) with two nights' accommodation in the luxurious and perfect 10rooms at Hotel Capitol Kuala Lumpur, centrally located in Bukit Bintang, the heart of Kuala Lumpur for the finest shopping, dining, and entertainment.

The Grace Hotel Sydney, together with Federal Hotels International, The Federal Kuala Lumpur, in association with Tourism Malaysia

and Malaysia Airlines, are pleased to present the 4th Flavours of Malaysia Food Festival as Sydney swings into a month-long celebration of the Crave Sydney International Food Festival this October whilst Malaysia commences the three-month Fabulous Food 1Malaysia dining feast

The theme of Visit Malaysia Year 2014 is "Celebrating 1Malaysia...Truly Asia" serves to highlight Malaysia's brand of harmony in a land of cultural diversity and cuisines.

Malaysia is the perfect food haven destination given the rich cultural influences, and Flavours of Malaysia is an ideal opportunity to showcase the fabulous cuisines of the southern states of Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor. Last year, over half a million Australians travelled to Malaysia, making Australia the eighth top tourist generating market to the country as per Tourism Malaysia statistics 2012.

During the festival diners will indulge in authentic Malaysian cuisine, prepared with fresh aromatic herbs and ingredients. They will enjoy well-loved local recipes, authentic Nyona specialities, traditional slow food of rendang, fresh healthy organic ulam salad, and from famed hawker fares, to tempting favourite dishes from the Tunku's Kitchen, to succulent seafood, tasty meat dishes, and delectable desserts, prepared by award winning chefs from The Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Those with a sweet tooth are not forgotten. There will be an array of delectable desserts from the traditional street stalls such as the popular Malaysian favourite dessert, the ice kacang (shaved ice), with a sweet and refreshing combination of red beans, corn, jelly, rose syrup and evaporated milk on a mountain of shaved ice; bubur kacang hijau with durian (green beans and durian soup dessert, and assorted Nyonya kuih, pudding-like cakes.
