Better butter

Butter began long ago with the Vikings' valuable knowledge about refining cream into butter. The Viking, Rollo, took a boat to France. To keep him peaceful, the French gave him a tract of land that is now called Normandie. Rollo returned the favour by teaching the French how to make butter.

And the rest, as they say, is history!

Butter-makers, Patrik and Maria, are modern-day 'butter vikings' based on the Isle of Wight in Britain, where they source the best-quality cream.

These revolutionary butters will change your concept of butter.

Angel butter (above)

Slow churning from our own special cultured cream. This is a really smooth butter with a melting and angelical character.

Virgin butter

This invention is a unique butter with a soft and porous texture and character of its own, and a lovely creaminess and freshness.

+++

Pearl butter

This newest butter is achieved by a gentle and careful churning of unique cultured cream. The result is really fresh butter pearls with an intense butteriness cut through by a balanced and distinct milk acidity. A special hand-churning technique creates these unworked original butter grains. It is almost unsalted and very smooth in texture, melting easily in the mouth.

Buttermilk

Buttermilk is a natural by-product of the butter making process. It contains natural emulsifiers and has the character of a certain acidity and a slightly thicker texture.

Chanting butter

Gentle and slow churning of cultured cream results in a really fresh butter with an intense butteriness cut through by a balanced but distinct milk acidity.
