Perfection Chocolates

Scene 1: mid-summer, New South Head Road, Rose Bay. It's hot, I'm walking the streets researching yet another iPhone application (stay tuned - it should be finished soon!). I sit down on a bus stop seat to write some notes and find I am right in front of a chocolate shop. BUT it is closed for the summer break, so I read the reviews on the window (glowing) and note down the Twitter address (@ChocolateJohnny).

Scene 2: back home, I tweet Johnny, saying how sorry I was not to be able to try his apparently wonderful chocolates (yes, I know, it probably sounded like a hint - but it wasn't, truly!). He tweets back and offers a 'care package'. Well I'm stuck at my desk by then and nothing seems sweeter than a chocolate care package. I say "yes, please!"

Scene 3: my letterbox, when a box of assorted chocolates arrive - from Johnny of course. Suddenly my day looks brighter.

From the outset, the family specialised in quality hand-made chocolates, designed for the local market and inspired from their European heritage. Using a combination of the finest ingredients and traditional knowledge, the quality hand-made chocolates brought a touch of European sophistication and luxury to Sydney.

Perfection Chocolates is still a Sydney-based, family-owned business. Passed on to Spiro and Mary Kapos in the 1970s, their son John and his wife Eva are now proudly use the family's traditional know-how. Many years of blending, innovation and sampling have gone into the chocolates that Perfection Chocolates produces today.

Most importantly in the lead-up to Valentines Day, these savvy chocolate people realise that this is one of the most chocolate-driven days of the year, and have responded accordingly this year with sweet hearts galore for sweethearts.

The website is choc-a-block with details of hard and cream centres, nut clusters, nougats, and wondrous 'Smash Cakes!'. You can get on a chocolate high just reading about the range.

Aaah! Delicious - the name says it all.
