When friends visited they were fed, regardless of the time of day. Those special memories inspired my becoming a chef and restaurateur and in 1984 we opened the Lake House in Daylesford. I've had the good fortune to share our place with so many guests over the years and to welcome them to our table. Now we're delighted to offer this selection of favourite recipes and locally sourced produce, to enjoy at home. As we say Priatnogo appetita... enjoy!"
In almost 30 years Lake House has received a raft of national awards and a few international gongs also. A range of small batch jams and jellies produced at Lake House ("2 cooks and 3 pots" as Alla says) soon developed a devoted following with even requests for a regular "fix" coming from international guests living as far away as Hong Kong and LA.
Alla's new range - A Wolf in the Kitchen - utilizies some of her favourite recipes and also offers locally sourced favourite produce. It's like having Alla at your elbow - literally a 'wolf' in the kitchen! These products are available for sale at Wombat Hill House, Lake House, Daylesford and through Raw Materials in Melbourne. Alla's range of produce has been greatly anticipated for some time. Since turning the first shovel of soil in the paddock where Lake House would be built in 1979, Alla and artist husband Allan have built a destination that true foodies have found "worthy of a journey" in the words of the Michelin Guides.
