(Pic: Wikimedia Commons) Snowpeas are a legume, meaning that they are eaten without having to be removed from the pod. Crisp in both texture and taste, this versatile vegetable is enjoyed across a range of cuisines. When purchasing, look for seeds that are small and flat, and identify produce which has smooth, unbroken skin. Serving suggestion: Snowpeas can be eaten raw, in salads, or added to any stir fry for extra colour and texture. Cook and toss through a mixture of honey, lemon juice, butter and almonds or soy, ginger and garlic for a tasty side dish. Quirky fact: The French phrase manger tous, meaning 'eat all' is sometimes used to describe Snowpeas (mangetout), as the entire thing is edible.
