There are always places that seem very special, and this cafe in Tenterfield on the New England Tableland, NSW, is ticking every box.
It is located in one of the many older buildings in Rouse Street, the town's main thoroughfare that becomes once again the New England Highway outside its town limits.
Like many successful places it has chosen to blend several options: gardening (as the name suggests), decor and - of course - great coffee and food.
There are several small rooms, ideal for colder days which, because of its altitude, Tenterfield amply provides throughout winter!
And there's a homespun bent too, catering to those who knit or cook or create.
The Potting Shed lives up to its name with a shady outdoor deck overlooking potplants and gardens. It is just an all-round lovely place to come - for a coffee, a meal, or to grab some new additons for your garden. (Did I tell you the service is really swift and friendly, and the food has a country-meets-city edge?)
