Coco meets Wendy

Sydney Harbour is known and rated highly worldwide. What many people do NOT know is that there is a secret garden with stunning views right on the waterfront, showcasing the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the busy waterway.

Brett Whiteley was a famous Australian artist who painted many of his works from this vantage point. After his death in 1992, his widow, Wendy Whiteley decided to create a permanent and beautiful memorial to him.

W endy’s Secret Garden has grown into a giant living work of art. To date, Wendy (left, above) has generously paid for the entire garden and its upkeep by her gardeners, and now is collaborating with COCO Chocolate.

This signature, not-for-profit chocolate bar is designed to compliment Brett Whiteley’s iconic Sydney paintings and supports the Trust to maintain this unique garden to the high standards she has set.

'I’ve loved making the garden,' she says. 'It’s been a great gift to my life. It let me find myself again and it’s my gift to share with the public. Nothing disappears faster than a garden, when it is not properly maintained.'

In a moment of pure inspiration, Sydney chocolatier Coco Chocolate approached Wendy Whiteley to collaborate to create signature chocolate bars to compliment the iconic works of Brett Whiteley. This was inspired by the proximately of Coco Chocolate Kirribilli to Lavender Bay, Rebecca’s regular visits to Wendy’s garden with her children and the love of Brett Whiteley’s iconic Sydney paintings.

'To create this collaboration with all profits going to support Wendy’s garden is a privilege and a joy' says founder Rebecca Knights.

Wendy's response to this is: "Brett loved chocolate!"

Rebecca Knights opened her first chocolate shop in Edinburgh UK in 2004, then the Edinburgh Chocolate School in 2006, launching in Harvey Nichols and Selfridges London in 2006, as the head chocolatier to rebrand the Harvey Nichols label signature range of chocolate bars and drinking chocolates.

Rebecca opened the prestigious and hugely popular Sydney Chocolate School in 2014.
