(Pic: Ash Finnegan) The legendary Pacific Coast has launched a new comprehensive Whale Trail app which plots 50 whale watching highlights on land and sea, details of each location including tour operators. Partnering with the National Parks and Wildlife, Wild About Whales campaign the app will feature in the NPWS campaign to be launched later this month. This part of the NSW Pacific Coast is the perfect place to witness the wonder of the world’s gentle giants during their annual migration from the south to the warmer waters in the north. From June to November you can see these magnificent, and in some cases, endangered species from either land or sea. Many great land-based whale watching sights can be found along the coastline, at perfect sandy beaches, on the top of towering sand dunes and rocky headlands and near coastal lakes and estuaries. But for a greater chance at sighting these splendid animals, take a cruise. Cruises offer the chance to see Humpbacks, Minke whales, Southern Right whales, Sei and Brydes whales as well as many other marine life.
