| Fringe Festival turns seventy |

If you enjoy serendipitous meetings such as with this fellow - none other than Sherlock Holmes himself, this whould be on your list for 2017. Each August Edinburgh's Royal Mile or High Street attracts thousands of visitors to its annual festival and the alternative and hugely entertainly Fringe Festival.
It is the city's biggest annual celebration, and 2017 marks its 70th anniversary! You can just imagine how much more it will be adding in to what is already a packed agenda with thousands of performances in scores of venues around the city over those packed 25 days.
Not only is there the Edinburgh International Festival and the Festival Fringe (which has become a template for other such festivities around the world) but at night the famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, held Monday to Saturday in the forecourt of the Edinburgh Castle.
