Travelling with kids is now child's play, we're told by Bound Round which has launched its global adventure travel app, designed specifically for kids. Launching with 60 city overview guides and seven detailed destination guides including Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Uluru, Canberra, Hong Kong and Fiji, Bound Round enables young travellers to gain valuable insight into destinations, and empowers them to have a say in the travel planning process.

The Bound Round global interactive travel app is designed for iPhone and iPad and can be downloaded via WiFi and 3G through the iTunes App Store for $2.99 (all destination guides added to the global app will be available for no additional cost). Detailed destination guides launching before Easter, 2014, include: Singapore, Tokyo, Philip Island and Cairns.

App Specifics: Designed for 8-12 year olds to play with before and during their visit to their destination city. By capturing if they want to visit a location, the app provides parents with feedback from the kids on the activities they really want to do when they get there and then provides information on how to get there, opening hours and even discounts available only to Bound Round customers.

When the kids are in a location they can create their own content in the 'Journal' section of the app and share it with friends and family along with photos in an e-postcard.

This interactive travel guide is particularly unique in that it is the only travel app designed by kids, for kids - essentially, it's a travel guide from a kids point of view. The app covers destinations across Australia, as well as some of its first global destinations.

Research has indicated that around 70 percent of children master smart phones and tablets by primary school age and that 57 percent use tablets for educational apps. With so many children turning to these devices, a gap in the market exists for an interactive travel app versus a traditional, printed, guidebook.
