Uncover Spain with an expert

MoVida chef and owner Frank Camorra was born in Barcelona and spent his first five years in his parents' hometown of Cordoba in Andalusia, before his parents migrated to Australia in 1975.

Today Frank is owner and Executive Chef of MoVida (2 hats), MoVida Next Door, MoVida Aqui (1 hat), MoVida Sydney, MoVida Bakery, Bar Pulpo, and the tacqueria bar Paco's Tacos.

Now, in collaboration with MPT Worldwide Journeys, he will host a one-of-a-kind adventure to Spain from 29 September this year. Unfortunately this tour has already been booked out, BUT the good news is that bookings are now being taken for a similar tour in 2014!

As owner of the MoVida restaurants and one of Australia's most prominent Spanish food personalities, Frank will guide a group of discerning travellers through the Andalucia region. The 'Uncover Spain with Frank Camorra' tour will be co-hosted by MPT Worldwide Journey's resident Spanish connoisseur, Suze Healy.

For 13 days, immerse yourself in the vibrant, southern-Spanish lifestyle as Frank and Suze lead you from buzzing tapas bars to hidden local hot spots and unspoilt towns for the epitome of experiential and culinary travel.

See Spain through Frank's eyes and taste his recipe for a good time in Andalucîa as you visit local producers and wine cellars throughout the countryside. Enjoy private dinner parties on rooftops, hosted dinners with Michelin-starred chefs, and boutique accommodation such as private villas, designer hotels and even a renovated olive mill.

More details......

In 2003, Frank opened MoVida in Hosier Lane. Melbourne greeted Spanish tapas with a warmth and excitement that no one could have predicted. Aptly named after the art and film movement that flourished in Madrid during Spain's reawakening, MoVida is a reflection of this fun, youthful and vibrant energy.

In 2007 MoVida was awarded 'Dish of the Year' at The Age Good Food Guide awards for the 'Cecina' - a dish of air-dried Wagyu with poached egg and truffle foam, a dish that is still on the menu currently.

In 2009 The Age Good Food Guide awards were also a success for MoVida with the restaurant receiving:

Two Chef's Hats for the restaurant, and

Chef of the Year for Frank Camorra.

Frank has co-written with Richard Cornish several books: MoVida, Spanish Culinary Adventures, MoVida Rustica, MoVida Cocina and MoVida's Guide To Barcelona, which have won numerous awards.

Frank will continue to present and explore his passion for Spanish food and cooking in both Melbourne and Sydney alike.

In February 2013, Frank was awarded the Cruz de Oficial de la Orden del Mérito Civil, an official Spanish decoration that acknowledged his "outstanding work, fruitful initiatives and exemplary persistence in the performance of duties beneficial for Spain".
