Take a safari

Gorgeous Safaris are single perfect weeks designed for women who work too hard and look after everything but themselves.  There's nothing more perfect than a week of spa treatments, retail therapy, delicious food, some mad adventures and time to relax.

Heavenly locations on earth, a perfect mix of activity and indulgence...all for women only. Groups are small - never more than 20 - and are great for single travellers as well as two or three friends or mothers and daughters. In each destination there is time to explore the food, culture and shopping delights, staying in luxury accomodation, and eating at excellent restaurants.

Vietnam Gourmet Food Safari®, from
15 - 25 March 2015 offers eleven fabulous days in the most beautiful country on earth, travelling top to bottom.

Here's a chance to explore one of the most seductive countries in the world, each region with its own special dishes and traditions. Gourmet Food Safaris has been leading tours in Vietnam for 10 years and have built up a network of contacts who delight in giving our groups special attention.

You’ll be looked after by Gourmet Safaris Director, Maeve O'Meara and founding Vietnam guide, Peter Nguyen, who will help you experience the real Vietnam, away from the tourist trail, finding the best restaurants and markets and those great little finds that you only find with someone who knows the territory.

Groups stay in 4.5 to 5 star luxury in some of the most acclaimed hotels, plus there’s a good mix of activity and lazing and the small group size means we can cater to your needs. One of the highlights is the very special visit to our guide Peter Nguyen’s extended family in the Mekong Delta. Peter was one of the first refugees to Australia from Vietnam, leaving behind a large family who love to have guests come and see how they live and taste some of their delicious food. â€¨â€¨Click here for sample itinerary

Then there  are the walking food safaris in Sydney and Melbourne as well as Sydney on wheels, banquets and cooking classes. In all of these you are taken to secret places, and meet local chefs and taste foods you may never have know existed.

Sydney has a number of distinct "villages" around which the people of particular nationalities have settled - the Italians in Haberfield, the Turkish around Auburn, the Lebanese in Punchbowl, the Greeks in Marrickville, the Vietnamese in Cabramatta, Koreans in Eastwood and Fairfield which is a great mix of cuisines and cultures. Join us with a local from each place to plunge into these worlds, full of different aromas, sights and sounds. All tours include specialist guide/s, lunch (some with wine), recipes, many tastings.

It is always fun. More details.....
