Bespoke in Portugal

As European travel re-opens Uncorked will be spending time in Portugal during 2022. The travel itinerary is exciting. Portuguese wineries had an early but great harvest in 2020. The new normal is the way we all will explore European wineries, post-COVID safe.

Port houses have declared both the 2017 and 2018 vintages, successive years are uncommon. Read the itinerary here.

Find the selection within Portugal’s wine counties (denomination of origin or DOs) - Alentejo, Barriada, Dao and the Douro; and the cities of Lisbon, Evora, Vila Nova di Gaia, Porto and Pinhao.

Lisbon is the home of sardine enjoyment, custard tarts and bright blue tiling. And expect vines perched high on rock-lined terraces of the Douro River to produce the tastes of modern day ports from plants along its banks. Even take a steep guided walk.

Bespoke in Burgundy and Piedmont

Increasingly Burgundy lovers are discovering the delights of nebbiolo; like pinot noir the hallowed Piedmontese grape is respected for its cold climate origins, and bright acidity. Nebbiolo is just more tannic.

Uncorked is conducting an unusual bespoke 2022 tour of cellars around Beaune (think Puligny-Montrachet and Vosne-Romanée), then crossing the French border to Alba (into Barolo and Barbaresco DOCGs); combining two revered cuisines and cultures.
