12-15 January - Lancelin Ocean Classic
2012 will mark this iconic event's 26th year and some of the world's best marathon, speed and wave sail windsurfers are expected to return to compete in Lancelin's ideal conditions.  Lancelin is a sleepy coastal town approx 2 hours north of Perth.

20 to 22 January - Yallingup Surfilm Festival, Clancy's Fish Pub Dunsborough
The Yallingup Surfilm Festival is one-of-a-kind event bringing together surfers, film enthusiasts, humanitarians and environmentalists as they share stories of human spirit and inspiration, all related to surf culture.  Over the three days there will be screenings of films from around the world handpicked by industry panellists, inspirational art exhibitions, as well as music and workshops to celebrate and appreciate nature and the global surf community.  Clancy's Fish Pub is a new venue, opening early Jan 2012, part of the successful Clancy's Fish Pub group in Perth.

28 and 29 January - Indian Ocean Classic and Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Ironman Series  From Trigg to Cottesloe Beaches in Perth
Perth beaches will be taken over by the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain IronMan Series and a new public participation event, the Indian Ocean Classic.  The coast will be swimming with athletes and budding surf lifesavers as they take part in a weekend of surf, sun and family fun.  The Indian Ocean Classic will have all the excitement of the IronMan Series with the same categories of ski, board, run and swim, but over an extended course, and can be completed by individuals or teams of four. Held on Saturday 28 January, the event will run from Trigg to Cottesloe, covering 25.4km, and will see the likes of Ironman legend Guy Leech and past winner Guy Andrews competing alongside the general public. The Kellogg's Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman competition, held on Sunday, will up the intensity as the country's best surf athletes tackle sea and land in a test of endurance, power, skill and speed.
