Dine in paradise (Tasmania)

Join innovative chefs and renowned wine experts in the idyllic Tasmanian wilderness when Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge hosts two pre-eminent gourmet food and wine events in April and June.

The boutique retreat will provide a stunning backdrop to a gourmet extravaganza on Saturday 27 April with their 'Tasmania Food Trail Celebration' event.

Part of the Peppers Gourmet Food Trail, a program of events and packages at Peppers' collection of resorts and retreats which celebrate the finest food and wine producing regions in Australia and New Zealand, the 'Tasmania Food Trail Celebration' event will allow guests to explore Tasmania's food trail, which is blessed with a diverse range of local produce.

Now in its 19th year and rated as one of Australia's top food and wine experiences, the event gives guests the opportunity to celebrate the very best in Tasmanian produce with a banquet of dining experiences from degustation dinners to cooking demonstrations and fresh produce markets to wine and cheese tastings.

The event will be hosted by Peter Bourne who is commonly known as "The Wine Man" from Sydney. Peter has an intimate knowledge and enthusiasm for Tasmanian produce which translates into a highly entertaining culinary experience.

Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is set at the entrance to the spectacular World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and is just over an hour's drive from Devonport or two hours from Launceston. Steeped in elegant comforts, dedicated to impeccable service and a tribute to Peppers' Gourmet Food Trail, the retreat is one of Australia's most iconic wilderness experiences.
