Mrauk U, Rakhine State - Myanmar
Mrauk U was once the capital city of the ancient Rakhine (Arakanese) Kingdom from the 15th - 18th centuries and today is a wonderland of ancient pagodas, temples and archeological ruins. Notable temples include the 16th century Htukkanthein Temple and the Koe-thaung Temple - or temple of 90,000 Buddhas - which is also the largest temple in Mrauk U.
