Michelin chef at Wonderfruit |
The organisers of Wonderfruit, the new three-day Thailand based festival are pleased to announce the addition of top chef David Thompson to a wide-ranging list of delights. Wonderfruit will take place in Chonburi near Bangkok from 19th – 21st December. The multifaceted festival will include six themed stages, a well-being zone, multiple acts across diverse genres, art in the form of outdoor installations, theatre, film, talks and debates (hosted by Dr Gino Yu). There will be workshops that cover cooking, fruit carving, crafts, photography and outdoor pursuits including horse riding and cycling as well as mountain top banquets, hosted by Michelin starred chef David Thompson - a truly salivating foodie experience. Aussie born Thompson hails from Sydney, and is the world’s most celebrated Thai food chef. His accomplishments include becoming the head chef at the renowned Thai restaurant Nahm at The Halkin Hotel in London. Nahm was awarded a Michelin star within the first six months of opening, the first Thai restaurant to achieve this prestigious award. Currently listed at number one in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants and number 13 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Thompson later moved east to open the second Nahm in Bangkok in 2013. If that wasn’t enough to whet the appetite, he will be joined by Paolo Vitaletti from Appia restaurant, along with a host of worldwide eateries including Never Ending Summer, Quince, Burnt Ends, Smokey Tails and the Bangkok Farmers Market. Visitors can also look forward to food demonstrations, foraging, farm tours, wine tasting and cooking workshops. Situated in a favourite spot for travellers, the sun-soaked picturesque location of Chonburi, Bangkok’s nearest seaside town, is located on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, only 80km from the capital. The area boasts abundant natural resources and beautiful beaches. In recognition of this, sustainability plays a key role at Wonderfruit. ++++++++++++ Secret Productions are the Co-creators of Wilderness Festival. |
