Dinner in the sky! |
This is true 'haute cuisine'. It's also the surrealist kind of story Belgium loves so much. The collaboration of Hakuna Matata, a communications agency specialising in gourmet pleasures, and The Fun Group, a company expert in amusement park installations deploying cranes, have joined forces and made a child’s dream come true: a flying dinner table - Dinner in the Sky which, at the outset, in May 2006, served as the venue for 22 young European restaurant owners to don their white chef’s hat.
Over the past years, Dinner in the Sky has criss-crossed the skies of 45 countries. In Europe, to be sure, but also in Australia, Japan, India, Dubaï, South-Africa, Brazil, United States, Mexico, Canada and China. For example, there was an event above Monaco for Prince Albert with France’s most highly ‘starred’ chef, Joel Robuchon, in command. Other glittering stars of gastronomy have headed aloft: Pierre Gagnaire, Marc Veyrat, Heston Blumenthal, Anton Mosimann, Dani Garcia, Paco Roncero, Alain Passard and Yannick Alleno.
As with many ideas, the innovators discovered that the sky - quite literally - was the limit. And so it led to a great many concepts allowing people to live their dreams: Meeting in the Sky which gives companies the opportunity to organize a product presentation, a conference, a concert or a meeting for up to 30 guests at … 50 metres altitude. Marriage in the Sky offers couples the opportunity to get married just as they would in church with a celebrant, witnesses, family members and friends, an organ, but in the clouds, among the angels and 50 metres above ground. Other creative concepts include Beach Bar in the Sky, an Opera in the Sky with Lesley Garrett singing at the Tower of London, an Internet Café in the Sky for Nokia in Las Vegas, and a PokerMatch in the Sky at the Grand Prix Moto of Jerez. Even Swing in the Sky, which gives golfers the incredible experience of playing their swing from 50 metres up!
The new generation of Dinner in the Sky, Lounge in the Sky, also demonstrates the company's commitment to helping people bring their dreams to life. This new platform lets you share a dinner or a glass of champagne with friends while listening to the sounds of Ghanaian drummers; arrange a match of bridge or poker; sip brandy while enjoying a fine Havana cigar; play a round of baccarat while being entertained by French Cancan dancers; participate in a quiz or a talk show broadcast live from the stars; attend a DJ jam session … all from an altitude of 50 metres. Everything can be envisaged........an exclusive experience customisable by each and every client. \
CONGRATULATIONS! Ten years celebrating aloft.
