Copenhagen Gastronomic Festival |
Hey! Cake-lovers!! This year's Copenhagen Cooking food festival, which runs from 24 August to 2 September, offers the biggest programme ever with gastronomic street parties, urban garden adventures and oyster cruises in the Port of Copenhagen. There is even a cake festival for those with a sweet tooth. The Copenhagen Pastry Guild showcases the best of Copenhagen's 'konditorer', as they present their delicious delicacies in the gardens of the Carlsberg Brewery. Cakes can be paired with Jacobsen's gourmet beer. This year the event will be held in the beautiful surroundings of Carlsberg.
When Northern Europe's biggest food festival, Copenhagen Cooking, kicks off for the eighth time in late summer, it promises to be an unforgettable event. The 10-day festival, which runs from 24 August to 2 September, boasts over 125 gastronomic experiences, including oyster cruises, chocolate lunches, Michelin cuisine at affordable prices, underwater guerrilla dining and dinner at Copenhagen City Hall. The official opening of this year's festival will take place on 24 August at the Black Diamond, where Restaurant noma's René Redzepi will be on hand to receive an award from Lord Mayor Frank Jensen in recognition of his extraordinary culinary contribution to the city of Copenhagen. Come and listen to gastronomic event managers talk about culinary events and sample delights from Kødbyens Fiskebar, a fish bar located in the meat-packing district, the new hip area of Copenhagen. HRH Princess Marie will be present in her capacity as patron of Copenhagen Cooking 2012. This year's festival programme features both classics and new attractions celebrating local and international cuisine. One such attraction is 'Nordic Taste' - a huge food-sampling happening that runs from 25 to 26 August. Here you will be able to sample the culinary skills and wares of Nordic restaurants and food producers. Another gastronomic celebration will take place at Jægersborggade on 29 August, where the street's restaurants and shops - including the Michelin restaurant Manfreds & Vin. |
