There is absolutely no shame in coming second. Especially when the list is luxury magazine Conde Nast's choice of the top 10 hotels worldwide. And especially when the hotel, COMO The Treasury, is brand new and it is located in the world's most remote capital city. Perth, in Western Australia.
These buildings have housed state government offices for the past 140 years. Today, this cosmopolitan boutique hotel with just 48 rooms, combines old and new: modern styling and preserved period features. The rooms reflect the highest standards of international luxury with huge windows, custom-made beds and freestanding bathtubs.
With a luxury spa, views of the iconic Town Hall from the pool and two restaurants, it’s a haven and social hotspot in one.
From the soaring ceilings to the carved white columns, there’s an innate sense of grandeur about COMO The Treasury.
For dinner, guests may choose between the convivial atmosphere of Post, or modern fine dining in Wildflower. In between, the Treasury Lounge and Bar is a relaxed spot for afternoon tea or cocktails after dark.
COMO The Treasury is set within Cathedral Square – putting guests at close quarters with Perth’s historic heart and contemporary soul. Near to city-centre sights, from St. George’s Cathedral to Perth Concert Hall. A little further away is Kings Park and Botanic Garden, or Perth Zoo. Sports fans will be well served too, with a number of golf courses, and the famous WACA cricket ground not far away.
