Are those your Underpants on the Conveyor?

If a book has 'underpants' in its title, you can expect it to be a fun read. Right?

What's more, if the author is Mark Sheehan (author of the bestselling America Over Easy) you know it not just going to be fun - it will be hilarious.

Are those your Underpants on the Conveyor?, is authored by Sheehan 'and friends' because, savvy traveller that he is, he couldn't possibly have had (and more importantly, probably wouldn't have wanted to have) all the misadventures in this book. However, he's a well-connected person who knows lots of people, especially people who travel a lot - many of whom seem to attract catastrophes like others buy postcards.

By throwing out the challenge to his fellow writers and travel junkies to 'top this one' with tales of disaster on the road (or in the air, or by sea) or, as the name suggests, even at the airport, he came up with a rich bounty of truly fabulous tales.

Billed as "an inside view of what happens when people venture out into the big wide world" it is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud. Sheehan says he also feels "empathy for the whack and crash landings taken by the other guy" and advises "if you are reading this book on the plane, please try and remember the people around YOU are trying to sleep!"

Underpants is the perfect stocking filler or last-minute gift, and an ideal book to press into someone's hand as they head for the boarding gate. Who knows, maybe there'll be an Underpants II to which they can contribute a blooper or two.
