Bitton Regional French Degustation Dinners |
Spend a “Night in Paris” at iconic Bitton Café and Bistro as they launch their series of dinners focusing on specialty regional French cuisine. French-inspired Bitton Café and Bistro in Alexandria has been offering excellence in food and service since its doors opened in 2000. In an area now full of food destinations, Bitton remains the original food destination and meeting place for locals and patrons looking for an all-round experience. With seasonally changing menus, Bitton has recently returned to its roots, bringing in even more of its French heritage to the breakfast, lunch and dinner items. French-born and trained owner and Executive Chef, David Bitton, will explore four regions of France – Paris, Perigod, Bourgogne and Provence and showcase their distinct and traditional methods of cooking using classic dishes and local ingredients. With the added influence of his younger protégée, Parisian born Leonard Michaud, these two exceptionally talented French chefs will create an entire experience that should not be missed. David Bitton says ”These dinners are very close to my heart as I go back and explore my childhood and early career. Some of my most exciting culinary moments, both in the commercial and domestic kitchen, were in France. I have enjoyed going back to the basis of my training an again cooking with the incredible ingredients of these regions.” Beginning where both chefs were born, Paris, the first menu features typical regional favourites such as Soupe à L’oignon (a rich, caramelised soup French onion soup served with large crouton gratinated with Gruyere cheese) and Paris-Brest (a stunning dessert of light choux pastry filled with hazelnut crème. Bitton’s outstanding wine list, featuring carefully selected wines from both France and Australia, will be adjusted for each dinner to ensure it complements the menu. Enjoy a four course menu for $65 per person on Wednesday August 27th, 2014. Bookings are strictly limited and will sell out fast. Dinners will be held bi-monthly with other dates to be confirmed. David and his team look forward to welcoming you to Bitton Gourmet at 36-37a Copeland Street Alexandria 2015, soon for one (or all) of these very special nights. Bon appetit!
