The Sand Museum in Tottori Sand Dunes is the only indoor museum that exhibits sand sculpture. These highest quality sand sculptures are created every year by the executive producer professional sculptor and producer, Katsuhiko Chaen.
Nature itself excels here too, with the Tottori Sand Dunes a natural masterpiece created over thousands of years.
These great dunes measure 16 kilometres from east to west, and two kilometres from north to south. “The hill of sand,” carried by wind and the Sendai River, has been accumulating for 100,000 years. |
