Sail back in time

Have you ever wondered what sailing must have been like before today's modern cruise liners? Do you yearn to feel the wind and salt and become more of a sailor, rather than a passenger? Then this cruise may be for you.

Australians rarely get the opportunity to recreate the journeys of early sailing pioneers - here is that chance as the 55-metre tall ship Lord Nelson is sailing around the world arriving in Australian waters in August and leaving to cross the Pacific Ocean in early December 2013.

Berths now available on tall ship voyages from Fremantle to Perth to Adelaide, then to Melbourne and Hobart, to Sydney an across to Auckland, Wellington and Nelson on an all-inclusive authentic sailing holiday.

Now you can experience a journey back in time crossing the Great Australian Bite, Bass Strait, the Tasman Sea, Bay of Islands or Cook Strait.

There are no upper age restrictions but you need to know that no-one is just a passenger and everyone is encouraged to be actively involved in the sailing, watches and maintenance of the ship as 'voyage crew' supported by a professional sailing team. Life on board is about joining in, getting involved regardless of your physical ability.

Voyage reservations through Bright based active holiday specialists Outdoor Travel Pty Ltd start from $1770 for 8-days from Adelaide to Melbourne.  The popular Melbourne to Hobart voyage departing on 13th September costs $2065 for 10-days. Sydney to Auckland costs $4390 for 20-days (which includes participation in a cross Tasman Tall Ship race with other ships from Europe).

Do two voyages & save - a 20 percent discount applies for any second and subsequent voyages.
