Amazon and beyond

amazoncruiseWiltrans International, representatives for luxurious Regent Seven Seas Cruises, has devised an exciting end-of-year Sojourn taking in highlights of South America.

This stunning 28-day Soujourn in December 2012, begins with a Qantas flight to Buenos Aires to the elegant Alvear Palace Hotel as a base for three nights to take in the sights and sound of the city.

Guests are transferred by Aerolinas Argentinas to Rio de Janeiro, the most celebrated city in Brazil, where they join luxurious 700-passenger Regent Seven Seas Mariner.  Here, the voyage begins with a cruise through the Atlantic Ocean along the coast of Brazil before visiting seven fascinating ports of call along the Amazon River.  A particular gem of this segment is the riverboat tours, which explore the countless tributaries, estuaries and small creeks, where a myriad of the richest wildlife can be seen.

After a visit to Devil's Island in French Guiana, Seven Seas Mariner cruises the Atlantic Ocean to Barbados, encircled with pristine beaches that go on without end. Guests can choose to adventure by land in an off-road safari, or by sea in a gorgeous catamaran or Atlantis submersible.

An overnight cruise sees guests waking up for a sunrise in Gustavia, St. Barts, in an isolated cove fringed with picturesque palm trees.  Excrsuions here range from snorkelling, sailing, and even horse riding through the jungle along the numerous shaded trails.

A visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico reveals the wonders of the imposing El Morro Castle, before a couple of gently-paced days and nights cruising the Atlanic to Miami, where guests are transferred by American Airlines to the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.  A real highlight here is dinner at celebrity chef, Scott Conant's restaurant, Scarpetta.

amazoncruise1After two days in the lively City of Angels, guests are treated to the luxury of a late 6pm checkout, and transferred to the Airport for a direct Qantas flight back to Australia.

This Soujourn from December 12, 2012, to January 11, 2013 includes all Qantas, Aerolinas Aregentinas, and American Airways flights, plus chauffured transfers on arrival, all hotels; together with a programme of captivating tours and special celebrations for the holiday season.  The 28-day Seven Seas Mariner cruise is all-inclusive with a choice of on board accomodation from the fabulous Master Suites to the superbly comfortable Deluxe Suites.
