An island off an island-city-country! The 395-hectare Sentosa Island, was previously a fishing village, then a fortress. Today it is bustling, business-minded, buttoned-down Singapore's playground. More elegant than a fun-park, but just as popular, this place never stops. A cable car soars over the harbour linking the two islands, or you can drive the causeway – please yourself. And that seems to be the motto of Sentosa. There are options everywhere. Fort Siloso allows you to test your war skills or you can head to Volcanoland. For less demanding activities, you can splash around at Water Wonderland, wander through Underwater World or the Orchid Gardens, tan on the man-made beaches – or simply wine and dine at one of the islands quality restaurants.

Look out through its mouth or eyes towards Singapore, then descend and take your time going through the amazing Images of Singapore display for an extra insight into this unique island-country.
