Ripple's Honey Massage |
Nestled in the Numimbah Valley, under the scented gums, is a hive of activity. Literally. It is here that Ripple Massage sources its golden honey for its just-launched honey massage, unique to Ripple in Australia. Tucked away in the Gold Coast Hinterland, the Numimbah Valley is a utopia for bees, especially during the cooler months when pollen is scarce. Ripple's honey is produced by a third generation bee keeper, whose family has been producing honey for more than 100 years. "Honey is magic for the skin," said Alison Shaw, owner of Ripple Massage. "It promotes tissue growth and is fabulous for exfoliation. Amino acids help retain the skin's natural moisture and antioxidants assist in reversing skin damage. As soon as we found this boutique honey, I knew we had to use it to create a unique massage that spoils the senses of smell and touch with the honey massage, and which also has amazing benefits for the skin."
Ripple massage therapists massage the warmed honey with oil and hot towel off as they go, so you are left with silky skin, infused with the honey aroma and none of the stickiness. "The love our bee keeper Mike puts into producing this honey and caring for his bees certainly is carried through to the massage," said Alison. As part of Ripple's Honey Massage Package, guests also receive a gift box with a pot of the honey, all the way from the hives in the Numimbah Valley, where thousands of bees have devoted their short lives to produce your little bit of gold.
There's also a handmade soap made with the honey and clean wax from the hives (by Kay who is obsessed with making luscious soaps exclusively for Ripple) and a handmade beeswax candle. Ripple's Honey Massage package includes the many free day spa extras that Ripple has become known for including a peppermint foot soak, full body honey exfoliation and organic green clay mask. For $195, it is two hours of golden bliss. Ripple provides a unique mobile day spa service to women, men and couples throughout the Gold Coast, Mt Tamborine, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, Melbourne, Yarra Valley, Great Ocean Road, Mornington Peninsula and Geelong regions. Also all Sydney, Tasmania and ACT
Guests can indulge in an abundance of other rare massages including the deep tissue Russian massage, relaxing seashell massage and even the wicked chocolate massage. Ripple also offers tailored packages for men, women, couples and hens parties and a wide range of luxurious beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures, exfoliation and facials.
