Bangkok night tour |
'Riding after dark in Bangkok is an adventure. Much of the riding is on narrow lane ways and quiet back streets.' say the organisors of this night bike tour. 'Of course there are main roads that riders have to cross but this is done together in a organised manner (and Bangkok drivers are very polite!).'
This tour is guaranteed for a minimum of two people. If you are a solo traveler, you should not let this deter you. As our tours are very popular, it is often likely that we have already achieved the minimum number of guests. The group will be a maximum of six participants in order to ensure that you receive all the attention that you deserve and to minimise our impact on the communities we visit. An entertaining and informative local English speaking guide will look after you and will weave the narrative of this historical adventure. User friendly mountain bikes with adjustments for comfort. All bikes are impeccably maintained and naturally come with lights.
This trip starts in the late afternoon finishing in the late evening. As day slowly turns to dusk and then to evening you will be exploring the original settlements from which Bangkok takes it name. Discover how diverse Bangkok was from its beginning. How a new capital welcomed Christians and Muslims to live alongside Buddhists and how the Chinese, Portuguese and Cham helped the Siamese to build their nation. Pedaling through small lanes and alleys see how these communities still make up modern Bangkok. Experience the present life of these communities with all of your senses; the smell of incense, the vibrant hues of stained glass windows, the muslim call to prayer, the touch of cool air as night falls and the flavors of Thai home cooking in the private home. This tour will also take you to see the evening lights of the Temple of the Dawn, the busy splash of color of the Flower Market and the serene illumination of the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, Wat Pho. Meet the people who live and work in these original communities. Step into their homes and alleyways. Taste their food and desserts. Sit down with a family. Taste traditional Thai foods that also help to tell the history of the Bangkok. |
