A quarter of a millennium - Hennessy |
Hennessy, is a cognac house with headquarters in Cognac, France. The Hennessy distillery was founded by Irishman Richard Hennessy in 1765. Today, the company of Jas Hennessy & Co. sells about 50 million bottles a year worldwide, or more than 40 percent of the world’s Cognac, making it the world's largest Cognac producer.
A collector anniversary blend At the occasion of its 250th anniversary, Hennessy created a unique blend that embodies the Maison's History. Of a bright, warm shade of amber, this cognac is of great distinction and intensity. A number of artists and designers have prepared works to celebrate this milestone event:
A panoramic stage The stage is interactive and modular, with movable partitions (inspired by the staves of a cognac barrel) that open and close as we progress through the scenes of this final act in the Hennessy experience. When closed, these partitions become a screen for films by five international artistes .When open, they reveal a stage on which local artists perform in different productions that change from country to country. Happenings—readings, choreography, performances—that take us back and back, following the thread that has drawn Hennessy to the far ends of the Earth: the drive to pass on a legacy, combined with a passion for other cultures. Designer Constance Guisset.
From the land to the savoir faire In this diaporama, the artist recreates himself as several different characters and delves into the mysteries of Hennessy’s ageing and blending of eaux-de-vie. Along the way, he manipulates objects essential to the process of creating cognac. The real world of Hennessy is reappropriated into an unusual and entertaining walk in the heart of Cognac. It’s “just like being there”. Pierrick Sorin More about Hennessy's 250 Tour.... Take a video journey through the home of Hennessy, Chateau Bagnolet... |
