Something exciting has been happening in Denmark. Danish architecture studio EFFEKT has built a helical tower that invites you to climb up above the treetops of the Gisselfeld Klosters Forest in Denmark. The 45-metre-high tower forms part of Denmark's largest climbing park, Camp Adventure, an hour's drive south of Copenhagen. The tower is shaped to enhance visitor experience - breathtaking views of the forest and nearby lakes, creeks and wetlands. The architects chose a curved profile with a slender waist and enlarged base and crown that not only increases the stability of the tower but also the observation deck area at the top.
The Treetop Experience includes two different paths, one that allows you to stay on the ground, and another high route that winds through the canopy of the trees, allowing visitors to look down on the forest below. The higher path passes through the oldest parts of the forest, while the tower and the lower paths are located in the younger areas. The high walkway also features a variety of activities that teaches visitors about the forest. In addition, Camp Adventure also offers numerous other activities, including zip lines and an existing adventure sports facility.
There is something for everyone. A sturdy walking bridge, nearly 3000 feet long winds through the forest until the path eventually ends at the foot of the observation tower that looks like a spiral ramp stretching high above the trees.
