Moab Adventure Center in Moab, Utah, USA, is luring people into one of the world's most spectacular playgrounds this fall with a menu of outdoor adventure to occupy vacationers for a half day or several days paired with a regional events calendar ranging from an international film festival to pumpkin chuckin'. "September and October are the prime months in Moab for consistently perfect weather, zany community events and backcountry trails just to yourself," says manager, Jamie Pearce. Fall activity menu options: Hummer Safari takes guests deep into the Slickrock formations that Moab is famous for. Arches Fiery Furnace Hike twists and turns among contorted orange-tan sandstone fins, towers, spires and arches within this scenic section of Arches National Park. Ephedras Grotto Canyoneering brings hikers across petrified sand dunes to two rappels (90 feet and 120 feet) into a sculptured underground chasm. Moab Mountain Biking Tours for all skill levels includes a sunrise downhill tour as it descends over 3,000 feet through the golden fall foliage of the La Sal Mountains. Zip Line Adventure is the center's latest lure atop the Moab Valley Rim, home to six thrilling zip lines and a 100-foot suspension bridge all with amazing views of Moab Valley.
Some of the more noteworthy fall events in and around Moab include: Moab Artwalk: Downtown Moab businesses and community organizations open their doors. Fee Free National Park Days / Nat'l Public Lands Day: joining national parks across the country in waiving entrance fees Aug. 25, Sept. 28 and Nov. 9-11 to encourage people to get outdoors and spend time with their friends and family in the national parks. Moab International Film Festival: Dramatic documentaries, environmental landscapes, outdoor action and more will be screened Sept. 20-22. 10th Annual M.O.A.B. (Mother of All Boogies) Skydiving Festival: Over 300 international skydivers are scheduled from Sept. 25-29 to jump from two or three giant twin-turbine airplanes 17,500 feet above the sea (13,000 feet above the ground). That's 60 seconds of freefall at 120MPH. 8th Annual Moab Ho-Down Mountain Bike Festival and Film Fest: From Oct. 24-27 it's bikes and movies.
