Gourmet Rabbit |
Gourmet Rabbit #2, published and edited by Denéa Buckingham, paperback, $16.95.
The first issue was hugely popular, sold widely, and after the clamour for more, more, more, now the follow-up is for sale in shops and cafes. The unlikely name and a bright and innovative layout is a trick for the senses. First glance, it's a fun book (and it is) but wait, there's more. Check inside this attractive second issue and you'll find excellent in-depth information on food, restaurants, chefs, drinks - oh, a wealth of everything a food-lover likes to dip into. Subtitled 'the best knows no borders', Gourmet Rabbit's categories just make you want to dig in and read: Exploring, Creating, Foraging, Sipping, Discovering and Munching. Better still it firmly focuses on regional areas, fresh produce and individuals. There's an international focus, but the NSW region of Orange also features in this issue. Sourdough is demystified, as are beer and sake, and there are plenty of chef's profiles, recipes, and food blogging. A shopping guide, a cook book, or inspiration for where to dine, a tribute to industry professionals - this bunny will become your buddy. More details: www.gourmetrabbit.com |
