A monument to dislike |
Buenos Aire's famous Recoleta Cemetery is most noted for the grave and memorial to Eva Peron, the wife of President Juan Peron. However it is also worth searching for this interesting monument. Here is the grave of a couple who quite plainly could not stand each other. For thirty years they refused to speak, and even in death they are looking in opposite directions. The husband died first and was placed in a grand chair atop his mausoleum, but his wife left clear directions that when she died, her emorial should face the other way. Now that's taking a grudge a little too far, surely! |
