Rent a room with a view |
It's not your usual holiday accommodation, but this is pot-of-gold territory. Stay here for a total front row view of the Southern Ocean.
Located in an 1838-built lighthouse, just off the Great Ocean Road, 38 minutes' drive from Apollo Bay, Victoria, Cape Otway Lightstation boasts stunning views of the Southern Ocean.
Sure you may need to share the view with tourists by day....
Cape Otway Lightstation offers a variety of accommodation options, including the Lightkeeper's B&B suites or the fully self-contained Lighthouse Lodge. The Lightstation Studio has stunning views of the light station from your room.
The former lighthouse-keeper houses have fully equipped kitchens and wood fireplaces, while the B&B suites and the studio each have a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery.
Evening meals and lunch packs can be requested and there is a fully licensed cafe.
Of course there is also the opportunity to get up close and personal with the light that has been safe-guarding shipping on the seas around this cape for almost two centuries. |
