Even though many Landmarks are available at short notice, the most popular are often booked well in advance. Book now, and be the lucky ones enjoying the view from Freston Tower in Suffolk or holding your special occasion in Kingswear Castle in Devon. Or visit the website to view all 195 Landmarks.

These are certainly holidays with a difference staying at historic places in England, Scotland, Wales, Lundy, the Channel Islands, France, and Italy, accommodating from one to 16 people.

Each of the Landmark buildings has a story: from the events they have witnessed to the people who have occupied them, from their construction many centuries ago to their more recent restoration.

Over 40 years, Landmark has rescued more than 200 buildings, all of which would have been at risk had they not taken them on. There are still many buildings in need of help; as soon as one project is completed, there are others waiting in the wings. Once a building is taken on Landmark must raise the money to pay for their repair and restoration.

Astley Castle was one such property, almost derelict (above) but taken on by the Trust and salvaged (top and below). Groundbreaking modern accommodation has been inserted within the ruined walls of this ancient moated site to combine the thrill of modern architecture with the atmosphere of an ancient place. Large glass walls now frame views of medieval stonework and the adjacent church and surrounding countryside. Now it available for holidayrental.
