Princess for a week |
No, this is not the Mississippi, although it's easy to see why you might think so. Follow in the footsteps of the great 19th-century pioneers and discover the secrets of Australia’s fascinating outback on Captain Cook Cruises two very special, seven-night Renmark cruises, aboard paddlewheeler, PS Murray Princess. The Mannum to Renmark cruise celebrates New Year’s Eve and departs Mannum on Friday 27th December 2019, while the Renmark to Mannum cruise departs Renmark on Friday 31st January 2020.
The Renmark cruise travels along 420kms of the Murray River passing incredible terrain, towering limestone cliffs and a range of birds and wildlife. The adventurous shore excursions show off the outback and Australia’s history and culture. Guests will visit historic river towns, and food and wine lovers will enjoy cellar door tastings and, onboard, sample the delicious local produce and wines from the Murray and Riverland regions at a food and wine tasting in the Sturt Dining Room. The river has much to teach about Aboriginal history dating back tens of thousands of years and early settlement of the area with the chance to experience a typical Australian woolshed show, followed by a Native Wildlife Shelter where some of South Australia’s most interesting animals are cared for. Then you can enjoy an Aussie barbeque on the banks of the Murray River. Renmark cruises also offer guests the ultimate excitement of navigating through five locks and getting close to the river's 20-million-year-old cliffs. |
