Visit Korea this winter and enjoy the beauty and spectacle of China's world renowned Harbin Ice & Snow Festival. Appropriately, until 28 February, 2016, there is a replica of the famous festival is currently at Alpensia Resort on the east coast of Korea, one of the venues for the Pyeonchang 2018 Winter Olympics. Sculptors from the popular Harbin Ice & Snow Festival have visited Korea to replicate magnificent sculptures made of ice and snow in the first ever Harbin Ice & Snow World seen in Korea.
The festival showcases grand-scale sculptures made out of snow and ice by over 300 Chinese artists certified by the city of Harbin. Displays will include cultural heritage sites from around the world such as the Colosseum, Tiananmen, the Taj Mahal along with representative cultural heritages from Korea which include Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, the nine-story pagoda from Hwangnyongsaji Temple site, a naval battle fought by Admiral Yi Sun-sin and more. In addition to these outstanding structures, the festival has a variety of fun experience programs for all to enjoy such as dog-sled riding or a merry-go-round made of ice as well as ice restaurants/bars to enjoy a meal.
