Let's check-up on Australia...

Here's to 2025 - twelve months 'down-under'...

~~~~
Everyone knows that Australia is a very long way for, well, almost everywhere.
Which is why visitors (and friends and rellies) come and stay - and stay and stay. This doesn't necessarily mean that your guests will overstay their welcome. It's just that they will follow the same opportunities used by Australians visiting Europe or other Noerthern Hemisphere destinations.
What is it?
It's the sensible 'While we are here...' decision.
SO - HERE are some lesser-known options for 2025 - and beyond.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA - the country's centre
As capital of South Australia, Adelaide has much to offer. There is everything from the Art Gallery's jaw-dropping surprises, like this, to...
To quiet parks and the city's stunning Botanic Gardens.
+++
CANBERRA - Australia's Capital
There is plenty to see in Canberra, including Australia's government buildings,. The city is a delight to visit all year round, especially in autumn (March to May) for tulips, June-July for the opportunity to dig for truffles...
...and spring (September to November) for the stunning annual floral explosion of Floriade attracts visitors from all prts of Australia.
+++
Witness the stunning waterfalls of the Kimberley in full flow after the annual 'Big Wet' from March to May and embark on an unforgettable adventure along one of Australia's most remote coastlines.
Experience a Kimberley shower under the classically beautiful terraced waterfall of the King Cascades. Here, water tumbles down a staggered terrace of Kimberley sandstone.
Head off to the countryside of New South Wales
Field to Forest Festival is on every April and is the perfect time to enjoy this scenic, outdoor foodie region in Autumn.
Visit Oberon, south of Sydney, in April for picnics in the uplands...
...and rare black gold, in Winter.
Bordertown city, Mildura, Victoria
The renowned Mildura region has a new title: 'Tropical North Victoria.'
Mildura, on the banks of the lengthy Murray River has long been a fruit-gowing area (must try the grapes and citrus!) and a stopping off place for people heading further west.
The locals want to set their own pace with these sayings about their city:
Cods Not Crocs
No Sharks, Just Great Bites
More Sunshine
Worth a visit...
Railway expeditions to the interior
As the name - Indian Pacific - suggests, this epic (and upomarket) train-ride runs between Australia's Pacific and Indian Oceans.
Prefer to cut across the country the other way? Then there is the Indian Pacific, that travele East from Perth to Sydney< New South Wales.
Head for the hills - South Australia
As one of the country's earliest settlements, Adelaide (its capital) and the nearby hills, has always been popular. A day in Hahndorfnestled amongst acres of vineyards and orchards, the charming village of Hahndorf is Australia's oldest German settlement, attracting about one million visitors a year.
But if you only have time fora city excursion, the hills will not disppoint - especially in autumn.Make sure that you taste some Australia's best wines.
Just a 15-minute drive from the heart of the city, the Adelaide Hills is the closest wine region, and boasts a range of crispy cool-climate classics.
Nobody had, until the geniuses down at Ewenique Tasting House and Hartshorn Distillery discovered you can use sheep’s whey to create a creamy, sweet vodka. Who knew?
Drive 40min south of Hobart to Birchs Bay to mix your own spirit. While you’re there, taste the saltbush vodka for a decidedly Tasmanian take on a classic tipple.
