Discover silo art |
A new art-form is creeping across Australia. In cities worldwide, gifted artists create huge murals on walls, bridges, streets and tall buildings, but few of them are as ambitious (or unexpected and stunningly beautiful) as Silo Art.
(Kimba, South Australia) Picture this, you are driving (and driving and driving) through one of outback Australia's wheat growing regions, when on the horizon you see a huge painting of a child or a native animal or a farmer.
(both at Northam, Western Australia) The trend is quite new, begun in 2015 in Northam, Western Australia. However once people caught on to the idea, local townsfolk realised that these huge and beautiful creations would make their location the ideal stopping point for a meal or a coffee. Photographs were taken and circulated, and very quickly a new art-era (and travel interest) began.
(Ravensthorpe, Western Australia) Until we are all free to travel again, visit HERE and start to make plans. |
